COP31 · Antalya 2026

Galatasaray University on the road to COP31

The climate crisis involves not only technology but also law, finance, communication and diplomacy. The seas are both the greatest buffer against this crisis and its most vulnerable area. Our university is preparing for the United Nations Climate Change Conference with all of this on the table.

Our University’s Work

The year’s only climate summit in Antalya

The 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will be held in Antalya, hosted by Türkiye, from 9 to 20 November 2026. This marks the first time Türkiye has hosted the Conference of the Parties to the climate convention.

The conference will be held in Antalya, with Türkiye holding the COP Presidency; Australia will chair the official negotiations. A pre-summit preparatory meeting will take place in Fiji, and a leaders’ meeting will be held in Tuvalu. Galatasaray University is preparing for this process within the framework of the university participation model implemented by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and has submitted ten projects to YÖK’s notification system.
